A note from Donna Denno:
FYI--NIHAC is part of the Health Coalition for Children and Youth and has
signed onto the attached letter regarding health insurance coverage for
children in Washington State.

Health Coalition for Children and Youth-
As many of you know, the SCHIP program is up for reauthorization this year in
Congress. This program serves more than 12,000 children in Washington State
and brings significant federal dollars to Washington for the purpose of health
coverage for children. A number of organizations began meeting a few months
ago to begin strategizing about ways that we as a Washington state coalition,
could be active in supporting reauthorization and seeking a permanent SCHIP fix
so that our state has more access to our SCHIP allotment.
One of the first things that we agreed we should do is to send a letter to the
Administration's Budget Office with a list of organization from Washington
state who support reauthorization with adequate funding as well as the
permanent fix for states such as Washington in this process. This letter is
attached and we are asking that your organization be listed. Reauthorization
of the SCHIP program and gaining more access to our SCHIP allotment will help
ensure that our efforts at the state level to cover all children are more
secure in the future.
Please let me know if your organization would like to be listed by next Monday,
January 22.
Thank You-
Liz
