NIHAC has in the past been very active in working towards maintaining
health services for low income and immigrant populations in Seattle. The
rally below relates to yet another move by Public Health of Seattle-King
County to reduce services to those who need it most. Please attend if you
can,
Mary Anne
Rally to Keep Our Public Health Clinics Open!
Saturday Sep 30th 10am to Noon
North Public Health Center
10501 Meridian Ave N. Seattle, North Parking Lot
Public Health of Seattle-King County provides affordable health
care across King County, even for people without health
insurance. Public Health provides immunizations, care for
pregnant women, general family medicine, pediatric care, family
planning, nutrition counseling, mental health services, WIC
program services, dental care and many other critical services
to keep you and your family healthy.
Public Health is making a radical proposal to close North
Seattle & Northshore (Bothell) Public Health and Dental Centers
as a way to balance the budget.
If this happens:
*Thousands of patients will lose access to healthcare
*Other low cost clinics do not have the capacity to see these
patients
*Emergency room visits will increase with patients unable to pay
*When Public Health Centers close, everyone loses.
Come and show your support by rallying for Health Care Access
for All! The rally will include speakers, live music, and
refreshments.
Also, please contact leaders in the County Government using the
information below. Let your voice be heard! Tell them to keep
ALL Public Health Clinics open.
