QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A Masters Degree in Public Health (minimum requirement).
2. A minimum of five years experience working/volunteering
in developing countries in the health sector (esp. Tanzania experience)
3. Demonstrated experience and expertise in program
planning, administration, monitoring, and evaluation; staff supervision;
financial management; fundraising from public, private and multilateral
sources; grantsmanship and report writing.
4. Experience in the development, registration, mentoring,
leadership, financing, and support of local Community Based Organizations in
developing countries.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for MIHV's Child Survival and Health Project
in Karatu District, Tanzania.
2. Acts as MIHV's principle representative, fostering and
promoting relationships and forums for collaboration with program partners
(the Tanzanian MOH's District Health Medical Team and village health
committees), local NGOs, international PVOs, the Tanzania/USAID Mission,
multilateral agencies, donors, and the project communities.
3. Provides supervision and support for senior project
staff.
4. Ensures that MIHV/Tanzania remains in compliance with
all contracts with donors and with the laws of the Government of Tanzania.
5. Takes a leadership role in proactively identifying local
needs, capacities and resources, and exploring new opportunities for MIHV to
increase and expand its organizational capacity.
6. Maintains fiduciary responsibility over the project,
including the development and monitoring of project financial reports and
budgets.
7. Reviews and finalizes program reports to MIHV HQ,
donors, and program partners.
8. Actively pursues funding opportunities in Tanzania and
the surrounding region.
ACCOUNTABILITY: The Tanzania Country Representative will be based in Karatu
District, Tanzania and reports to the MIHV International Program Director
who is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
