senior-level business manager for the Seattle office.

A rapidly growing international non-profit, Health Alliance International
(HAI) will be accepting letters of application and resumes for an
experienced business manager who will be based at our Seattle, WA
headquarters.
The Director of Headquarters Operations is responsible for supervising,
planning, and implementing all administrative services for the
organization in Seattle. Headquarters provides services to support field
programs; this director will be part of a management team including
Headquarters-based directors of country operations. With sites in
Seattle, Mozambique and Timor-Leste, and future expansion into other
developing countries, the individual must have a track record in the
successful management of organizations of moderate complexity.
Scope of Work
Directs the operational activities of HAI headquarters in Seattle. This
is a senior-level management position responsible for the entire
operations of an organization related to policies, practices, and
attainment of operating goals. Requires leadership in multiple areas,
including organizational development. Understands and is responsible for
a variety of key functional departments: development, human resources,
grants and budgets, accounting and finance. Ensures that all departments
and managers are working in concert. Directs the capital expenditure and
asset redeployment activities. Controls the human resource cost and
growth. Develops and implements a sound short- and long-range plan for
the organization in concert with the strategic plan. Ensures that
financial and year-end goals are attained. Ensures that the strategic
plan is implemented as directed by the Board of Directors. Will be
instrumental in moving the organization forward in new initiatives in
keeping with the organization's vision and mission and to ensure
organizational efficiencies as we expand.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop and motivate others
- Detailed-oriented on both macro and micro levels
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong technical background in organizational processes
- Proven leadership in financial systems, especially in grants-funded
organizations
- 5+ years of business/operations management experience at a senior level
- Advanced degree in business administration or related field
- Background in international development highly desirable
