The Northwest International Health Action Committee (NIHAC) Presents:

A Film and panel discussion on the impact of war on human rights and health in East Timor.

Film: "East Timor: Betrayal and Resurrection" - Detailing the occupation, war and independence of East Timor, the world's newest country. (80 minutes)

Panel: A panel presentation and discussion regarding the impacts of war and human rights on health will follow the film. The panel will include:

·         Elwin Wirkala – Independence referendum observer, United Nations Mission in East Timor

·         Scott Skogland – Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, East Timor

·         Mary Anne Mercer – Director of East Timor Operations, Health Alliance International
