**US Campaign to Ban Landmines Action Alert**

Dear Friend,

We encourage you to visit www.banminesusa.org/petition to see our new
and creative on-line flash video (just one minute long) about the
global landmines crisis and then for you to sign the on-line petition
that follows.  It urges the presidential candidates to come out in
favor of US support for the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty. Our goal is to get
THOUSANDS of signatures on this petition before the election.  

If you have audio speakers on your computer, turn them up.

Please forward this link to friends, co-workers, and other networks of
people whom you think might care about this issue.  Also, it would be
