Convention Center and targets those attending and peace

Anne Mugisha is a Ugandan opposition politician and human
rights activist living in exile in the USA following the
violent 2001 Presidential election in her country. She is
a Director of Change Initiative a transnational NGO that
seeks to create awareness about human rights abuses in
Uganda and advocates of multiparty democracy in her
country.
Peter Otika is a Ugandan student activist at the University
of Pittsburgh. Also exiled after the 2001 elections in
Uganda, Peter is involved with several African activist
organizations including Azania Heritage. He is from
Northern Uganda an area that has known no peace for the
last 18 years.
Sam Akaki is the Director of International Lobby for Reform
in Uganda a UK based NGO that lobbies UK and European
Parliamentarians and decision makers to pursue policies
that promote peace and human rights in Uganda.
Moses Sebunya is an American citizen of Ugandan descent.
He is an activist for democratic reforms and freedoms in
Uganda.
All the speakers are members of th Forum for Democratic
Change a new political organization in Uganda. The
organization was formed through the merger of three
political pressure groups and intends to challenge the
Movement government in the 2006 presidential and
parliamentary elections. The immediate objective of the
organization is to create a broad base of support within
Parliament and at the grass roots to stop the President
from pushing through a Constitutional Amendment that would
allow the incumbent to become President for life.
