The Northwest International Health Action Coalition steering committee met on
Feb 27. The following items were discussed:
1)Co-sponsorship of Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury's talk on the Impact of Economic
Globalization on Health
and the People's Health Movement on Thurs Mar 6th 5:30 Room T 435 of the Health
Sciences building And SATURDAY, MARCH 8TH, 7PM with RECEPTION TO FOLLOW

2)Next NIHAC general meeting tenatively planned for early May on the topic of
Environmental Health Impacts of War. If you have interest or expertise in the
area or know of a good speaker on the subject please contact Donna Denno

3)Julie Wallace will be leaving the NIHAC steering committee when she moves to
Washington DC to start her Child Survival Fellowship. The steering committee
wishes her all the best.
If you are interested in being on the steering committee please contact one of
the committee members. We meet approx 4x/year, plan the general meetings
(4-6/year), field requests from organizations regarding sign-on, support letters
on issues that NIHAC has been involved in and send emails updates relating to
such issues to the membership. We also welcome new ideas! For more info about
