What would happen if the women of the United States refused to sleep
with
their husbands until the war with Iraq was called off?

The first ever world-wide theatrical event for peace will take place on
Monday, March 3rd, 2003! Theater artists from New York to San
Francisco,
from Germany to Greece are raising their collective voice against war by

producing readings of Lysistrata on the same day!

The Capitol Hill Arts Center is featuring two readings and an evening
get-together. VIA and Unexpected Productions presents the first reading
at
7:30p. At 9:30pm, Aimee Bruneau presents the second, followed by a Party
for
Peace! We¹re excited to present the traditional Persian/Iraqi sounds and

sights of the musicians and dancers of ³Shourangees² (translation: ³The
Joy-Bringer²)! The show and party are free of charge, but please come
with
some potluck food to share if you are able. Special thanks to Red Hook
Brewery and the Elysian Brewery for providing us with tasty beverages
available free of charge for all those who show proof of age.

Seattle is one of the project¹s major participants. There are already
15
other readings scheduled around the city, with more to follow! Readings

will be performed throughout the day at Westlake and Victor
Steinbrueck
Parks, Seattle Central Community College, Elliott Bay Book Company,
Espresso
Roma, Victrola Coffee & Art, Venus Clothing, St. Cloud¹s Restaurant,
Woodland Park United Methodist Church, Penny Café and all over Ballard,
and
in West Seattle. Go support your local artists! Catch as many readings
as
you can! Try to join us all in the evening at the Capitol Hill Arts
Center
for music, food, and friends. peace,m.
