February 12th, 2003
7 PM
UW Health Sciences Building, K069*
Please join us for a pot luck dinner before the talk, at 6:15 PM
Amineh is a Palestinian-American who traveled to the occupied Palestinian
territories in twice in 2002 to make a documentary film about the medical
work of her organization, UPMRC. She documented human rights violations
and many of the challenges health care personnel face daily under the
siege and curfew, and experienced first-hand many of the dangers of living
in Palestine today. Amineh has captured on film examples of the
psychological effects of the occupation on children, and focuses on her
first-hand observations of the experience through their eyes. She will
present an historic overview of the Palestinian health system and share
her experiences, photographs and clips of her footage.
Sponsored by: NIHAC (Northwest International Health Action Coalition),
