Dear Advocates and Enthusiasts,
Celebrate diversity on World Vegan Day (Nov. 1st) by treating a
friend, colleague, or simply yourself to a healthy pure plant-based
meal or shopping frenzy. A short compilation of Baha'i vegan quotes,
organizations, and links are appended below. Please spread the
L.O.V.E. (living our vegan ethics) by sharing with your like-minded
or open-minded circle of friends.
Serenity and justice for all,

"Burden not an animal with more than it can bear. We, truly, have
prohibited such treatment through a most binding interdiction in the
Book. Be ye the embodiments of justice and fairness amidst all
creation." 188
(Baha'u'llah, The Kitab-i-Aqdas, p. 87)
In the days of old an instinct for warfare was developed in the
struggle with wild animals; this is no longer necessary; nay, rather,
co-operation and mutual understanding are seen to produce the
greatest welfare of mankind.
(Abdu'l-Baha, Abdu'l-Baha in London, p. 19)
The nobility of man and his spiritual development will lead him in
the future to such a position that no individual could enjoy eating
his food or resting at home while knowing that there was one person
somewhere in the world without food or shelter. It is Bahá'u'lláh's
mission to create such a new race of men.
(Adib Taherzadeh, The Revelation of Baha'u'llah v 3, p. 127)
The food of the future will be fruit and grains. The time will come
when meat is no longer eaten. Medical science is yet only in its
infancy, but it has shown that our natural diet is that which grows
out of the ground. The people will gradually develop up to the
condition of taking only this natural food.
('Abdu'l-Baha, from Bahá'u'lláh and the New Era, page 102) or
(Compilations, Baha'i Scriptures, p. 453)
Bahá'u'lláh teaches that the science of medicine and the art of
healing must be developed. 'Abdu'l-Bahá has stated that the science
of medicine will be so perfected in the future that most diseases
will be treated with foods, herbs and natural remedies. Although it
is not the main mission of Bahá'u'lláh to give guidance on matters
dealing with food and health -- a role which must be played by
science in this age -- He has nevertheless given some basic advice
about diet and hygiene.
(Adib Taherzadeh, The Revelation of Baha'u'llah v 3, p. 358)
"To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art."
"The pleasure of love is in loving."
