hi tesy, destiny, andera merino
thanks for the reply
and a nice inspiring story...best of luck to you and your family members
your children will require consistent appreciation and moral boosting activities to keep up the good work they are doing...best of luck
one more thing i wanted to share and ask if any one has answer or had similar experience
some times it happens with me that with just very little effort like just go through a article casually, i can get what it is all about...for example in my post graduate degree program we were given a assignment to read number of IEEE publications and then explain about them, the publications were of IEEE and written by techies from leading universities and were quite technical..at that time i could not do so and got a F in that subject. It was after a year or so that i was searching for book and in my study table i found those papers, i picked up one and then it took me just 15 mins to completely get what the writer was trying to explain.
this is just one example and i have number of other examples as well
i do not know if it has some thing to do with the chemistry of brain or some thing...may be the docs need to look into this, they may find a clue/cure...
a bit more about my bumps(just to help if any body has answer)...out of 100+ 4-5 or of the size of green pea and remaining mostly are like dots...so any body got a suggestion/idea
thanks

Subject: [Neurofibromatosis] Learning abilities of NF1
Hi All,
I am zubair and have NF1, it's quite severe as i have number of coffee marks (on right wrist and under left arm) and plenty of bumps (numbering in almost 100+) on my body mostly on chest, belly and back.
It was diagnosed around 10 years ago and at that time the doctor asked me questions as how i was i in sports and studies in college and my answer was i am not good and i am below average. He then told me that told me he had guessed it by the severity of nf1 and told me that i am lucky as the stage i am at 99% of people are mentally retarded.
I do have a slow learning and a short memory (e.g. at times i forget if i have brushed my teeth or not or where i placed my shoes and i alos forget spellings etc etc) and i take a lot of time to understand things, so the question is is there any cure to this ? I know that has no treatment but is there some thing like improving learning abilities.
I do have a 4 year BS degree in computers and the i am in a good organization and earning good, but to reach this place it took me a lot of time and plenty of efforts. Countless nights and days without sleep of 6 years were spent to get a degree which people complete in 4 years and then for my post graduate degree i was expelled beacuse of poor gardes.
At job i am good but to develop the skills required for my job i had to put up a lot of effort, some times it was like for 7-8 weeks i used to be at work without a day off.
In a way nf1 has helped me as it has given lesson which is that hard work can do any thing but the question is that is there a way things can be improved ? i mean how the effort and time spent can be used to achieve some thing bigger.
thanks
