Hi, I recently applied for SSI for my daughter with NF...we are in the process. She had a brain tumor removed in September and they just had her have an evaluation with a doctor. I'm curious to know giraffe_baby, what symptoms did your daughter have that qualified her to receive SSI? Also, when was this, because I know they have made the rules more strict in recent years. Thanks, Brandy

Hello, well i dont think being single has anything to do with it.
What i would do is go to www.ss.gov and look up the disablity and
then there is a section to look for what qualifys as a disablity. I
did that for my ( at that time ) 3 year old daughter. I found that
you need very very ACCURATE times, dates, reasons for doc visits,
doc's addresses, phone numbers. And also a doc that will back you is
a great plus!!! WE were NOT turned down at all. And honestly my
daughter is not that bad. Now i recive $585 a month for JUST HER!!!
if you have any ? email me at giraffe_baby@... and let me know
your the one with the SSI question.
