Hi, I have a question that I would love to get some feedback on. I
live in a fairly small town (about 15,000 people). My daughter who
is nine has NF1. sometimes when I am at the grocery store, I see a
woman doing her shopping who looks to me like she might have NF, she
has many many bumps on her face. I have always wanted to approach
her and ask her if she has NF but at the same time I don't want to
offend her, it sort of goes against what I teach my daughter which is
that what is important about a person is what is on the
inside.....and I feel like this woman, no matter what it is that
she "has", she's probably ultra conscious of it and doesn't want
people to ask her.
Can anyone tell me if you have Nf, do you prefer being asked about it
because it gives you a chance to educate people or do you prefer if
people don't even acknowledge there is anything different about you?

I should add that my daughter is just becoming aware of herself in
that preteen way and starting to look at her spots...she has probably
40-60 spots.
