Re: Symptoms

Sherri,

I have also heard about vitamin E slowing growth of tumors but do not
know of anyone who could testify to that. Myself, during both my
pregnancies, noticed more growth of the bumps. I am now in my 30's
and do have more than I did ten years ago.....and have gotten more
now that my kids are older. But, it hasn't been to the point where
it seems I get new bumps all the time. I have had some on my face
removed....one left a scar like a crater that i am not happy about.
The face is more noticeable in the sunlight when it seems I can see
bumps under the skin....anyone else? Funny how this disorder differs
with all. Most of my bumps are tiny or pea size.....some areas are
numerous. I have a couple of what I believe are plexiform fibromas
but they are more under the skin....but large and I have also had one
of those removed. Just consult a genetic doctor before you decide to
have children. It very likely could affect you and chances are about
50/50 of your child being born with NF. Neither of mine have it but
that is not to say that they are carriers of NF and could pass it
on. Hope this helps!! Rita

Hi Rita I have been led to believe that you can't be a silent "carrier" of NF. Drs have told me that you must have some physical sign of the disorder i.e. CAL...
