Here's a link with a British news story about a new form of biofeedback called "neurofeedback" in which people learn to control their brain activity using changes in fMRI images for feedback.

(in case the link doesn't work:  http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,8122-2480091,00.html  )

I see this two ways:
Bad news: usurping "neurofeedback" (or trying to) for a high tech, expensive, clearly medical procedure
Good news: increased "face recognition" for the word neurofeedback if it gets popularized from this kind of application.

Others' thoughts?

(I'm posting this as an FYI and because I'm hoping that this particular forum will be a safe place to compare thoughts -- and trusting it will not become twisted into a professional/nonprofessional or treatment/training "discussion" (as my parents called their interactions before getting divorced.... ;-)

Hi Meg: I didn't understand the article as using fMRI as an example of neurofeedback -- I thought it was primarily about fMRI; as an "new intervention" they...

Thanks, glad you liked it; it really was hastily written, I'm working on enuresis/NFB proposal. I inadvertently deleted your phone number from my cell phone,...

It's a deal. But we need a few more people "dashing off" the letters. (Actually, they always take a few hours to write. You think you know what you want to...

Good news for anyone who tries to bill insurers for neurofeedback. If fMRI NFB becomes popular, and enough providers pressure the insurers to cover their...
