This group is a companion to the meetup group at http://www.meetup.com/neurodiversity and is being created to allow local group members an easy means of communication outside of the meetup group itself.

If you are diagnosed with or have reason to believe you have one of the following conditions, this group is for you... whether you have any interest in the meetup group or not.

Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Pervasive Development Disorders, ADD/ADHD, OCD or any condition which makes you different.

In this group it is normal to be odd, quirky or strange. It's okay with us if you don't act the way people generally expect others to behave: we are here to listen, offer advice, and be friends.

If you have special interests you like to pursue we want to hear about them! This is a group where you can be yourself and not worry about anyone judging you for it... as long as you are willing to offer that same consideration to all the rest of us.

Although you don't have to be on the Autism Spectrum or a "cousin" (dyslexic or other learning disabilities, other diagnoses and conditions which mean we learn differently or behave differently) this group is primarily for those who are, regardless of age.
