The 16th Annual NCEMSF Conference is less then two weeks away and
plans are set for what promises to be an outstanding weekend!
1) END OF REGULAR REGISTRATION - FEBRUARY 21
If you have not yet registered for the conference, REGISTER and PAY
now before rates increase again on Saturday and join the over 750 of
your colleagues already scheduled to attend.
If you have already registered but not yet paid, please do so by the
21st to avoid cancellation and having to re-register and pay the
increased rate. If you have indicated that you will be paying via
university purchase order and have not yet submitted a signed copy of
that order please do so as soon as possible and assure that actual
payment is received prior to the start of the conference. Any
payment mailed to NCEMSF must be received by February 25th,
otherwise it should be hand delivered at conference check-in.
If you have purchased tokens, please return to the conference Web
site and assign the tokens to specific attendees.
Conference fees and payment policies are detailed on the conference
Web site - please review these policies carefully before registering.

2) HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS AT THE CRYSTAL GATEWAY MARRIOTT
The conference hotel block is full. If you have not yet reserved your
hotel rooms you may attempt to book at the host facility, however,
there are no guarantees that a room will be available and we cannot assure
the conference rate. Continue to use the NCEMSF conference code
listed on the conference Web site, however, the fair market price may
prevail. If you experience any difficulty in securing a room, please
email conf2009@... and we will try our best to assist you in
getting a room at the best available rate.
Please note that there are two Marriott facilities across the street
from each other in Crystal City. There is the Crystal City Marriott
and the Crystal Gateway Marriott. The NCEMSF Conference and the
NCEMSF room block is at the Crystal GATEWAY Marriott. Please make
certain that you try to reserve your rooms at the correct facility.
Also note that parking is not included in the lodging price. Self
parking in the hotel lot is available for $19 per night. There is
also on street parking available and other local lots that are
cheaper and/or offer special weekend deals if you look for them.
3) AWARDS PROGRAM / STRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE DEADLINE - FEBRUARY 20
As always awards are available for Collegiate EMS Provider,
Collegiate EMS Advisor, Collegiate EMS Organization, Collegiate EMS
Web Site and Collegiate EMS Video of the Year. Consult the Web for
submission criteria - other than Striving for Excellence there is no
specific application. Nominations should consist of a formal
nominating letter and all applicable supporting documentation/
corroborating references. Remember that to be eligible for any
organizational awards, an organization must be a current dues paying
Institutional Member of NCEMSF. Membership information is also
available on the Web site and through the online conference
registration utility. IN ORDER TO BE FULLY CONSIDERED, ALL
SUBMISSIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY FEBRUARY 20TH.
4) PHYSIO CONTROL EMS SKILLS COMPETITION DEADLINE - FEBRUARY 25
The EMS Skills Competition will again take place Friday night. A
number of changes have been made to make the competition run more
smoothly. ONE team of four providers per school may participate in
this always fun filled event. If your school has not previously
entered we highly encourage you to do so this year! To secure your
school's spot in the competition pre-register online prior to
February 25th. The $10.00 team registration fee is due upon
conference check-in in Washington, DC prior to the start of competition.
More information about the conference schedule, fees, travel
information including driving directions and parking, skills
competitions, and local attractions is available online and will be
updated continuously as the conference approaches.
Note: this will be the last email to announce@... prior to the
Conference. Additional emails will be sent to all conference
registrants next weekend with pertinent pre-arrival instructions.

Founded in 1993, NCEMSF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
committed to scholarship, research and to creating a safer, healthier
environment on college and university campuses through the support,
promotion, and advocacy of campus-based emergency medical services.
In addition to providing for the acquisition of medical knowledge,
campus based EMS allows student participants to develop certain life
skills including leadership, communication, and decision-making.
NCEMSF provides a forum for communication and creates an environment
where ideas can be exchanged and problems can be solved.
