general-l-digest Friday, May 2 2008 Volume 01 : Number 446 In NCEMSF's GENERAL-L digest today: [general-l] Re: general-l-digest V1 #445 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 1 May 2008 00:10:14 -0800 From: "Anthony M" <anthonym83@...> Subject: [general-l] Re: general-l-digest V1 #445 - ------=_Part_7164_33445944.1209629414307 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline I want to be clear on this...an EMT-Basic can act as a medical director? What are the specific responsibilities? Medical director is usually an M.D. who uses his medical license to give EMTs and Paramedics authority to give patient treatment in the field. I don't think EMTs even have medical authority/ability without an MD medical director outlining a scope of practice for them. Are things done differently in New York? - -Anthony On Thu, May 1, 2008 at 12:05 AM, > > Hello All! > YMCA Day Camp Iroquois in Manlius, NY a suburb of Syracuse is looking > for an EMT-B or higher as Medical Director for 8 weeks from end of June > to mid August.

Medical Director is responsible for health, > safety and emergency response for aprox. 400 school age (4-15 yrs old) > campers and staff members.

If interested see www.campiroquois.orgfor more info > This was a GREAT place to work! > Tracey Juda
SAVAC Alum > SUNY Oswego 2005 - ------=_Part_7164_33445944.1209629414307 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline I want to be clear on this...an EMT-Basic can act as a medical director?
What are the specific responsibilities?
