I want to be clear on this...an EMT-Basic can act as a medical director?
What are the specific responsibilities? Medical director is usually an M.D. who uses his medical license to give EMTs and Paramedics authority to give patient treatment in the field. I don't think EMTs even have medical authority/ability without an MD medical director outlining a scope of practice for them.

Are things done differently in New York?
