Reply | Forward Message #3244 of 3286 |
The 2008 NCEMSF Annual Conference is just 7 weeks away! The NCEMSF
leadership hopes you had a relaxing winter vacation, that you are now
well prepared for the challenges of the new semester, and that you
are excited about joining your colleagues that have already
registered for the conference in Philadelphia, February 29-March 2.

Visit http://www.ncemsf.org/conf2008/ and register today! Contained
below are a series of important conference related reminders and
deadlines. Please read carefully.

REGISTRATION: The only way to register for the 2008 Conference is
online. REGISTER AND PAY by January 19th to lock in the cheapest
rates for what is already the most affordable EMS education
experience. Conference fees and payment policies are detailed on the
conference Web site - please read these policies carefully before
registering. EARLY REGISTRATION ENDS NEXT SATURDAY! FEES WILL
INCREASE JANUARY 20TH!

LODGING: Registration fees do not include lodging, however,
significant discounts have been arranged. Conference attendees are
strongly encouraged to stay at the host facility, the Crowne Plaza
Valley Forge, in order to gain the most from the conference
experience. Check the facility page on the conference Web site for
information on booking your hotel room and reserve your room early.
THE CONFERENCE RATE IS GUARANTEED ONLY THROUGH FEBRUARY 8TH!

TRANSPORTATION: In an effort to ease the travel burden and further
reduce costs for Conference 2008 attendees flying to Philadelphia,
the NCEMSF Conference Committee is exploring options for travel to
and from Philadelphia International Airport and the host facility,
the Crowne Plaza Valley Forge. Please complete this very short online
survey that will aid in conference transportation planning. http://

VOMACKA STUDENT SPEAKER COMPETITION: Initially introduced at the 2001
Annual Conference, the Richard W. Vomacka Student Speaker Competition
is named for an NCEMSF mentor who passed away in October 2001. This
symposium is a chance for student lecturers to showcase their
presentation skills and earn bragging rights for their collegiate EMS
organization. The competition is judged on a speaker's ability to
deliver a relevant high-quality seminar to their peers. The deadline
for submissions is February 1st. Three speakers will be selected by
the Conference Committee to present on Saturday morning. Those
selected will be notified by February 8th. Submission specifications
may be found on the conference Web site.

AWARDS PROGRAM / STRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE: As always awards are
available for Collegiate EMS Provider, Collegiate EMS Advisor,
Collegiate EMS Organization, and Collegiate EMS Web Site of the Year.
In addition, we have added a Collegiate EMS video contest and a
Collegiate EMS Week prize. In order to be fully considered, all
submissions must be received by February 22nd. Consult the Web for
submission criteria. Remember that to be eligible for any
organizational awards, an organization must be a current dues paying
Institutional Member of NCEMSF. Membership information is also
available on the Web site and through the online conference
registration utility.

EMS SKILLS COMPETITION: The Medtronic EMS Skills Competition will
again take place Friday night. ONE team of four providers per school
may participate in this always fun filled event. If your school has
not previously entered we highly encourage you to do so this year! To
secure your school's spot in the competition pre-register online
prior to February 27th. Schools that have not pre-registered online
prior to the conference may not be permitted to compete. The $10.00
team registration fee is due upon conference check-in in Philadelphia
prior to the start of competition. Trophies will be awarded to the
top finalists.

More information about the conference schedule, fees, skills
competitions, Vomacka Student Speaker Competition and local
attractions is available online and will be updated continuously as
the conference approaches.

Looking forward to greeting you in Philadelphia!
