NCEMSF Update - 2008 National Conference   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #3238 of 3287 |
NCEMSF Supporter,

The NCEMSF Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the 15th
Annual National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation
Conference will be held February 29 to March 2, 2008 in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania. Campus EMS volunteers from Philadelphia area campus EMS
organizations will help to coordinate this year's milestone event.

The NCEMSF leadership remains committed to providing the most
educational EMS conference anywhere at the greatest value. Help us to
capitalize on the successes of our previous conferences by making this
year's 15th Annual Conference the largest gathering of collegiate EMS
providers to date. Located less than 20 miles from historic Downtown
Philadelphia, two miles from Valley Forge National Historical Park,
site of Washington's troops winter encampment during the Revolutionary
War, and across the street from The King of Prussia Mall, the largest
enclosed retail shopping mall in the United States,
the Crowne Plaza Valley Forge will be this year's conference host
facility. Only a short distance from Philadelphia International
Airport and conveniently located at the junction of the Pennsylvania
Turnpike (I-276/476), the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76), and Routes
202 and 422, the Crowne Plaza Valley Forge is ideally situated.

NCEMSF will have full access to the entire facility for the duration
of the conference weekend. A special nightly conference rate of under
$100.00 (plus applicable taxes) and complimentary parking have been
negotiated. As in past years, conference registration fees will depend
on personal NCEMSF membership status and time of registration
ranging from $60.00 to $95.00 per attendee.

More information, including a complete fee schedule, instructions on
how to register and reserve hotel rooms, detailed travel information,
speakers, and information about special programs such as awards,
skills competition, and scholarship, will be posted on our Web site
shortly. Also, look for updates in the next issue of NCEMSF News,
which will be published and mailed by mid-September.

Interested speakers/program participants may submit a copy of their
resume along with an abstract and/or detailed outline of their
proposed session, being sure to highlight the topic's relevance to
campus based EMS, to conf2008@... or to the fax number below.

Please email conf2008@... with all conference related inquiries.

begin your personal and institutional memberships and take advantage
of a full year of outstanding benefits (06/01/2007 - 05/31/2008).
Update both your personal and institutional online profiles with your
current telephone number and email address, and, if you moved since
the last academic year, your mailing address as well. Institutions
should make certain that their listed contact person remains involved
and has not recently graduated. Consult the
Web site for the most current list of member benefits, including
cheaper conference registration rates and NCEMSF award eligibility,

EMS Week:
Collegiate EMS Week, modeled after National EMS Week sponsored by
Congress and the American College of Emergency Physicians, is
scheduled for November 5-11, 2007. Take advantage of this opportunity
to celebrate campus based EMS together with all other collegiate corps
nationwide. An updated packet filled with new ideas for activities and
publicity will be available online by October 1. Last year's packet
may be accessed until then for those wishing to get an even earlier
start on planning.

Get Involved/Stay connected:
Interested in getting more involved with NCEMSF? There are also always
projects throughout the year with which the Board could use some
assistance. Email secretary@... if interested in contributing.
Also, contact your Regional Coordinator (RC) and resume/initiate
dialog about recent campus events. Submit your group's news for free
online press too.

As always, the entire NCEMSF leadership is available to answer your
questions, help solve your problems, and support your initiatives.
Please contact us and let us know how we can best assist you this
year.

Have a safe start to the new semester and see you in Philadelphia this winter!

Founded in 1993, NCEMSF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit professional
organization committed to scholarship, research and consultancy
activities and to creating a safer, healthier environment on college
and university campuses. Comprised of approximately 200 college
campus based emergency medical service (EMS) agencies trained to
respond within minutes and provide care tailored specifically to
campus emergencies, NCEMSF's purpose is to support, promote, and
advocate EMS on college and university campuses nationwide. In
addition to providing for the acquisition of medical knowledge, campus
based EMS allows student participants to develop certain life skills
including leadership, communication, and decision making. NCEMSF
provides a forum for communication and creates an environment where
