Hi all. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in VT. I can't even imagine what it feels like on campus right now.
Please remember that part of taking care of others is taking care of yourselves. Keep an eye on your fellow providers, do a stress debriefing, and get help as needed.
Be well and be safe

Subject: [general-l] Recent Events at Virginia Tech
As most of you are aware, there was a shooting at Virginia Tech (Blacksburg,
Virginia) today that resulted in over 50 people either dead or wounded. At
this time, 33 people have died including the shooter who took his own life.
This event spread over most of the Monday morning and into the afternoon with
an extensive EMS response from many jurisdictions in Montgomery County, VA.
The Virginia Tech Rescue Squad played a major role in the command and
coordination of the EMS event.
I have been in contact with the VTRS and they have relayed that none of their
personnel were injured in the shootings. They have been busy and I do not have
the full details of the event, other than that their entire membership was
involved in one way or another in providing care to the Campus Community. I
have received a few offerings of support and assistance, and those are
appreciated. I have passed those along to the leadership of the VTRS. If you,
too, would like to offer assistance or prayers, their organization's email
address is vtrescue@....
Please keep Virginia Tech and the families of those lost today in your prayers.
