I've just became a member of this group.
I also had Gail as my midwife, just like Elizabeth, while giving birth in my own
bedroom to my now 3 years old lovely daughter Lal. Since then I'm trying to
spread out the importance of Active Natural Birth.
We'll be giving a workshop this Saturday & Sunday, on Pre-Natal & Labor Yoga.
It'll begin at 10.30 at Yoga Sala, Nisantasi, Istanbul. (Registration needed
beforehand). We'll cover all aspects of pregnancy & labor in two days. Saturday
will be given by my friend Seher, and Sunday by myself.
In the LABOR part; the physiology of birth, hormones, importance of environment,
people, muscles involved, where and how to push the baby, the relaxation tips,
best postures for birthing, massage techniques, acupressure points for
accelaration of birth, the importance of breath and sound will be explained and
practiced.
In the PRE-NATAL part; Yoga for a healthy pregnancy will be practised. The
essential breath, relaxation, lessening the problems of pregnancy, how to have a
healthy and strong body, how to loosen up the necessary joints for an easier
birth, how to maintain the tone of the muscles of the perineum, Kegels and tips
on getting a healthy and quick recovery after birth will be explained.
There'll also be a short section on what to do after birthing with C-section,
how to recover fast and some suggested exercises that can be done right away
after C-section.
