Re: The boy has turned!!!   Message List

Dear all

Thank you so much for your kind emails - I have been trying the kneeling with my bottom in the air and my head resting on the floor, and maybe it's that but my clever little boy has turned!  I do hope he doesn't turn back again to breech, as it would be wonderful if he could stay head down.  He's not engaged, but at least he's pointing the right way which is a start!

Elizabeth, I would love to meet up when you have some time - I will stop working on Friday 19th Sept so would love to meet up after that if you are free!  My doctor is Dr Serbülent Orhaner - he is at the Soranus clinic next door, but I will have my baby at the Doruk.  To be honest I am still considering changing doctors as his views seem very fixed e.g. it's either C section or normal birth with epidural, and I would like a bit more flexibility and the chance to labour by myself without intervention.  Elizabeth I will try to call you later on this evening.

Anyway, thank you all for your help and positive thoughts!  I will keep you posted.

Many thanks

Victoria

Subject: [naturalbirthturkey] Birth in Izmit

Hello friends,
In response to Victoria, who's doctor has said she won't do a natural birth without an epidural, please know that this is not mandatory, and you have every right to refuse.  I refused with two babies born naturally here in Izmit, and am confident that if you stand your ground you shouldn't be pressured into it.

Also, my first baby, a boy was in the breech position until 36 weeks, and then one day he just flipped. It is totally possible for the baby to flip up until you go into labor, and all the wonderful exercises the other ladies have suggested can help give you peace of mind that he will do that very thing all on his own. I'm sending positive thoughts your way

By the way, has anybody heard about the 'labor training course' doctors will have to take should they perform unnecessary cesareans? The cesarean rate is an alarming 60% (from what I've been told), and it seems like they might finally start doing something about it.

Warm wishes to you all!  If you want to see my little ones, take a look at my blog: www.denizbaby. blogspot. com

Regards,
Rose
