As stupid as it sounds, they want a mother with a "proven pelvis," one that they are sure can adequately accomodate a baby. What a load of hooey. As if each pregnancy isn't completely different, each baby totally unique. They sometimes try to pull this cr@p on mothers in the US, too, for homebirths.

I noticed that a hospital in Ankara does waterbirths as well, but that they won't accept a first-time mother. What is the justification for that? I asked the same question on a different natural birthing board and everyone was stunned that a first-time mother would be turned away. No one could find a logical explanation for the blanket rule. Perhaps you can help me see the reasoning behind it. Thanks.
