Hi,
I'm in a similar boat. I'm in Ankara and would like to have a midwife-assisted
homebirth, but this would be my first child (actually, I'm still trying to
conceive). My experience with doctors in Turkey has unfortunately never been
pleasant, and for such a monumental experience such as giving birth, I'd rather
do it without the stress of someone's poor bedside manner. I read on a another
webpage that midwife-assisted homebirths were illegal in places that have access
to hospitals. Does anyone know if this is indeed the case? I hope it is not; I
would be devastated. Also, does anyone have any information on how to get a
birth certificate in Turkey if you birth at home?
