Harry:

Do I remember that you were over in Germany earlier,
or was that someone else???

I read about a product that has been sold in Germany
for the last 30 years as a cell rejuvenator. German
oncologists have also claimed it will kill cancer
cells.

The theory is that an increase in respiration of the
microchondria that increase oxygen in the cells and we
are to believe that cancer cells can't stand oxygen.
Harvard Medical Schooll did a lab experiment that
showed that a mere 5% increase in mitochondria to
mouse ovaries cut the death rate by 50%.

The inventor of this stuff (which is beet juice with
yeast cells) says it will increase mitochondria cells
by 25%. At the World Congress for High Technology
Medicine in Lucerne Switzerland, a Dr. Serge Jurasunas
claimed to have treated over 20,000 cancer ptients
over the years with outstanding results.

While in Germany, did you ever hear about this
product, sold as Body Oxygen??

HI Group

I purchased Nov/Dec issue of Well Beng Journal. A letter to the editor caught my eye: You cn read the letter and then decide if you want to investigate  further.

Dear Editor

I eradicatead prostate cancer for under $`1.00. I did so by inhaling an atomized spray of hydrogen peroxide through my mouth 5 or 6 times a day. This was the same 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide that one purchases in a drugstore. I suffered no discomfort, side efffects or nausea from the hydrogen peroxide, unless of course you consider "beating" cancer is a discomforting thought. The unbelieving government agents, medical doctors and the pharmaceutical industry say it cannotb e done. I am living proof they are wrong.

I believe that this heating of the prostate in a tub of water is an attempt to mimic the use of hifu which does a similar event.
Think of CRyo and how invasive that is and think your body's
temp when you have a high fever.
Would you kill your Pca if you had pneumonia And 106 degree internal body temp. Its like the old joke of the dr who cant cure a cold so he gives you pneumonis which he can cure.
Pca is heat resistant, by God its even radiation resistant.
Its because it divides so slowly like a normal cell and leaves the prostate earlier than we think.
One good thing is it presents normally at the rectal wall so it is possible to harm the PCa without invasive procedures.
Killing it is not likely without further investigation.
However, there two things inthis scenario unaddressed.
One is that this Sitz bath might avert prostatitis which provokes Pca and one should consider prostate massage to get rid of congestion within the acini of the prostate especially it shrinks under CHB.
The massage part baffles me so if you know how to do it,
please let me know.

Dennis,

sorry i don't know the temp. of prostate-  i can't get
in there with a thermometer!

actually, the water temp. should be at least 42.5
degrees C  acc. to the scientist who told me about
this.  keep putting in more hot water as the tub
gradually cools, to keep it at that high temp.

does it work?  long history of anecdotal evidence,
acc. to him.  certainly soothing for anyone with
prostatitis, those prostate pains, etc.

I dont believe that PSA Prostatic Specific Antigen being high offers a good prognosis under any circumstances.
If it were antiangiogenic it would mean no metastasis with high PSA and almost always it means the opposite.
IT RELATES TO BAD DRE'S EXHIBITING ROCK HARD PROSTATES AND THE SPECTRE OF EARLY DEMISE.
The original understanding of the PSA test was that is was more reliable than the PAP and DRE test which I still use to confirm PSA.
The trouble with PSA is that it doesnt always indicate that Pca is present and also can indicate it it there when it is not.
As for it demising blood supplies to metastasis (angiogenisis) is pure bunk. It can monitor disease progression. Almost all cognizant doctors agree with this.
There are substances that do this job but that is another story.
Best Wishes,
Dom

Ed,

A recent study from PubMed found that PSA may function in tumors as an antiangiogenic protein and helps to explain why prostate cancers progress so slowly. Lowering PSA quickly may be to your detriment.

hello dwight

regarding your question did it relieve sypmtoms or reduce psa ??? - who knows - but i am still here after 9 years
have a rectal exam every year with my annual check up - last done in august 05 - doctor told me if he did not know i had prostate cancer he would not have known as he could not feel it.

one thing about taking these supplements is the testosterone level gets real low, almost off the chart approaching zero, but with that comes a lack of energy, thats why i keep trying to reduce the  amount of pills i take...... everytime i do psa goes up but so does the testosterone level

my triglycerides also run very high off the chart taking these pills - have not found a way to reduce these

i was diagnosed with prostate cancer on 10/96 witha gelason of 3+3 both sides with one detected close to the wall
after much research decided on alternative courses of action rather than conventional

biggest change was in diet - went totally vegetarian and still am, low to no fat diet most of the time, and extended periods up to 6 months of raw food diet
i have taken many to no dietary supplements over this period of time and could not tell a difference one way or another - stopped taking dietary supplements three years ago except of course for pc-res, prostate -res and the original pc-plus

Larry,
The question you pose is a tough one ,so to say, contoversial.
Most practitioners track PSA very carefully.
Some say it causes Pca and some think it relieves Pca.
But this discounted, I believe if you can control that number long enough Pca is managed where it wont kill you.
It cannot metastasize and invade vital organs.
It can indicate the stoppage of bone mets and confirm Pca cell kill because the lesions are not visible via bone scan whereas initially they were. Bone pain goes away and the patient feels his life is saved.
The drop of PSA on CHB is biphasic meaning that in hormonally sensitive Pca there is a sharp drop in PSA within a month or 4 max. After that time there is a shallow drop over about 13 months. After the nine month mark apoptosis occurs and the PCa is managed to the point of lets say any other treatment option incuding Radical Prostatectomy.
Unfortunately as you may already know Pca at any stage of its development is a systemic disease with most men presenting with micrometastsis to the bone marrow which is not clinically evident.
My belief is that given a small tumor less than the size of a sugar cube in aggegate, CHB or herbals can prevent cause specific non survival from Pca.
Unfortunately also no one can prove this.
Will anything you throw at it work?
No! But there is a lot of good stuff to manage it.
Think of it this way...the cause specific survival from various standard treatments does not change because we all succumb to some other cause. Treatment becomes irrelevant.
Any questions?
Thank you for your interest in my comments,
Dom

Dom,

It works to drop your PSA but a more important question…does it do any with the cancer?

I have only used Prostasol for 3-6 months.  It works.

My PSA dropped from 4.7 to 1.89. I took other herbals as well. The mix acts like Lupron on the biopsied slides.

You get nipple tenderness and breast enlargement with even half doses. This stuff works. I never took full doses and it kept my Cap at bay.

Hi Dwight,
My name Dominick C. Vecchio (Dom) and I recently am having a bout of what seemes to prostatitis.
It happens when you sit on a hard surface such as the bathtub you get a strong pain which can make you yelp.
I have been given Cipro twice a day for prostatitis and it seems to be going away.
I was diagnosed with Pca 1-01-04 with bPSA of 4.7 at 65 years of age, GS 3+4 with involvement one lobe and perineral inavasion ? I went to several doctors who are well known and was given several treatment options.
I am doing the Leibowitz protocol which is a combined hormonal blockade-3.6 mg ZolaDEX IMPLANT MONTHLY to produce 11 ng/dcl castrate level,3-50mg Casodex,1 5mg Proscar for 13 months then I only take 5 mg of Proscar daily forever. Im in my 11 month and my PSA is .029 up from .005 for one year.
I think it rose because of this pain I have which may be related to prostatitis infection.
What is that?
Well, its pus in the sacs which produce the fluid that supports ejaculation.
Today I found out that this could also be caused by interstitial cystitus fo which there is no treatment or known cause.
This is a phantom which causes grief to Pca victims as they cannot resolve the rise in PSA which may be also biochemical failure of your treatment forcing you to take on amore extreme option.
Comments welcomed.
Good Luck,
Dom

Hi Ed:

Thanks so much for sharing all that data!!!  I really
appreciate it as it gives me some hope.  I also
congratulate you on your record keeping!!  I am sure
you do a much better job than most doctors.

To get the diagnosis in Oct. 96 you must have had a
needle biopsy.  Do you remember how many needles they
used?  Did you have any side effects from the biopsy?
I have read so many bad things that I have not done
one yet.  My highest psa has been 5.1

Since you got your diagnosis, have you ever
experienced pain or discomfort in your perineum?
Likewise, noticed increased "activity" (not pain) in
your scrotum. I have named that discomfort CCSS.
(creepy crawly scrotum syndrome)  Since both these
pains and "feelings" are new within the last year
(when my psa went up) I presume they must be related.

Can't find any info to say if they are or are not
related to PC.  Trying to find out from other guys,
like you, what experiences they have had on these two
pain/discomforts.

Thanks again for your sharing your history.

If you would like to try something that helps with
meditation
take a look at the Insight and Focus CD's on the
AwakenedMinds.com website. I use the Insight CD almost
daily to deepen my meditation. It makes a big
difference for me. I use the 72 minute Focus CD when I
brisk walk for exercise. This does not make much of a
difference to me. I got both CD's for about $50 plus
shipping. This is much less expensive then the
Holosync CD's from the Centerpointe Research
Institute(fancy name for a commercial operation).
Both companys' CD's use "binural beats" to deepen
meditation. Both their websites explain how it works.

Hi Ken:

Thanks so much for your insight. You definately many
be onto something!! I too have been very active in
learning and researching prostate problems and PCa.
My CCSS and perineum pain started just about the time
I learned my psa hit an all time high and my doc
started talking about biospsies to test for PCs.

I found one article stating that may guys who had
perineum pain (and had NO psa or prostate problems)
were told it was stress related. Obviously, mental
stress from worrying about PCa could bring it on.

I don't have much faith in shrinks so will research
(oh gosh, here I go again) how to focus on something
possitive. If you have any "quick fixes" on a mantra
or method, would love to hear from you or any one
else.

Wow! Here's another one. Insulin Potentionated
Therapy. I stumbled on a Sept. 2001 article by Dr.
Robert Rowen stating the IPT was what he would do if
he ever got prostate cancer. The theory is that
cancer cells are totally dependent on glucose as their
energy source. They have 6 to 15 times more insulin
receptors on their membranes to consume glucose. In
addition, insulin makes the cell membranes more
permeable for other substances (like chemo drugs) to
enter. Using insulin opens the cancer up and can be
targeted without killing normal cells. Info available
on WWW.IPTQ.ORG Since they use chemo drugs, it is
often paid for by medicare and insurance.

Has any one out there heard of it or tried it?

Genetic trigger for prostate cancer 'found'
By Roger Highfield, Science Editor
(Filed: 29/10/2005)

Researchers believe that they have discovered the genetic trigger for the most common male cancer and say the advance could revolutionise the way that the disease is diagnosed and treated.

Every year more than 30,000 men in Britain are diagnosed with prostate cancer and 10,000 die from it.

The discovery that the disease is caused by chromosomes scrambling and triggering abnormal cell growth could lead to a much more accurate diagnostic test in blood or urine than is provided by current screening.

The new find will help scientists to work out the best course of action for each type of prostate cancer and could pave the way to more effective treatments. It is also suspected that a similar mechanism could be at work in other common cancers, such as lung cancer.

Genes fuse together as a result of the scrambled chromosomes to produce abnormal gene activity, according to a study published yesterday in the journal Science by researchers at the University of Michigan Medical School, in collaboration with Brigham and Women's Hospital at Harvard.

The abnormal gene fusion occurs when one of two genes, ERG or ETV1, merges with a prostate-specific gene called TMPRSS2, team members Scott Tomlins and Daniel Rhodes discovered.

They found the unique molecular signature of these fused genes in around 75 per cent of prostate cancer tissue samples, but found no evidence of gene fusion in benign prostate tissue or in prostate tissue with non-cancerous changes.

"The data in our study provides evidence that gene fusion is the causative agent in prostate cancer," said Prof Arul Chinnaiyan, who directed the study. "It is the first step in the progression of tissue changes leading to prostate cancer.

It will allow us to categorise prostate tumours by molecular sub-type, which could help determine the most effective treatment for each patient."

While re-arrangements in chromosomes and fused genes have been detected in blood cell cancers such as leukaemia and lymphoma, this is the first time they have been found in a common solid tumour like prostate cancer.

The team hopes to identify small molecule inhibitors for the genes involved in prostate cancer, which would be similar to Gleevec, a drug designed to target the gene fusion that causes a form of leukaemia.

Prof Colin Cooper, a prostate cancer expert at Cancer Research UK, said: "This work is potentially very important in terms of understanding how prostate cancer develops, but the results must now be confirmed in a larger number of prostate cancer samples."

Hello Dwight Black
In reference to "creepy crawly scrotum syndrome" mentioned in
your post.
I accquired a very similar sensation this Feb in resonse to my
internist telling me I had a very good chance of having Pca.The odd
feelings (not pain) increased after I was told, several PSA tests
later, the PSA velocity continued high and the Free PSA had desended
to 8%.(She then informed me the odds were 56% that I have Pca)
I can't speak for anyone except myself but I believe I have
brought this "creepy crawly scrotum syndrome" you describe on
myself by obsessing (researching) Pca day and night since my Feb
diagnosis . The feeling was with me ,sitting ,standing and driving
the car.I kept reading about castration as the ultimate method of
hormonal blockade.
I believe thoughts are things and what we bring our attention to on
a constant basis we affect for either good or bad. My wife who knows
me better than myself, advised me to let go of it (the researching -
obsessing)for a while and put the effort into meditation and guided
immagry replacing the anger I felt about the Pca diagnosis with a
spirit of forgiveness and letting go. BINGO!!!
The syndrome is still there but less so and there are actually
times when I am not thinking about it.
I hope in some way this post helps and lets you know that you are
not alone in the things you may be experienceing.
Many people on this forum have been thru alot and try to help
each other. If you reword your post slightly different and resubmit
it, some one else may pick up on it and give you a better
perspective on the syndrome you describe than I have. Best of
luck. Ken

hi larry

your point is well taken
i had read about that as well
just reinforces the fact that this is not really a science
so one needs to use their intuition
and pay close attention to what their bodies are telling them
staying open to the possibilities has been my strategy

Ed,
A recent study from PubMed found that PSA may function in tumors as an antiangiogenic protein and helps to explain why prostate cancers progress so slowly. Lowering PSA quickly may be to your detriment.

hello dwight

regarding your question did it relieve sypmtoms or reduce psa ??? - who knows - but i am still here after 9 years
have a rectal exam every year with my annual check up - last done in august 05 - doctor told me if he did not know i had prostate cancer he would not have known as he could not feel it.

one thing about taking these supplements is the testosterone level gets real low, almost off the chart approaching zero, but with that comes a lack of energy, thats why i keep trying to reduce the  amount of pills i take...... everytime i do psa goes up but so does the testosterone level

my triglycerides also run very high off the chart taking these pills - have not found a way to reduce these

i was diagnosed with prostate cancer on 10/96 witha gelason of 3+3 both sides with one detected close to the wall
after much research decided on alternative courses of action rather than conventional

biggest change was in diet - went totally vegetarian and still am, low to no fat diet most of the time, and extended periods up to 6 months of raw food diet
i have taken many to no dietary supplements over this period of time and could not tell a difference one way or another - stopped taking dietary supplements three years ago except of course for pc-res, prostate -res and the original pc-plus

a history of my psa scores follows

SPECIAL NOTICE – November CARE meeting Thurs. Nov. 10th, 7pm

At the United Methodist Church, 100 Dayton St., Ridgewood, NJ

Our meeting will feature the head oncologist from the LEONARDIS

CLINIC in Germany, Doctor Ursula Jacob, MD. This clinic has one of the
highest success rates with terminal cancer and because of this, a
worldwide reputation.

Dr Jacob will be joined at our meeting by Dr. Dana Flavin, MD. a well

known doctor, chemist, and nutritionist. Dr. Flavin has been responsible

for much of the alternative or integrative approach that is used by the
clinic in it's broad and successful approach to cancer.

In July of 2005 I had the need for serious medical treatment of bone

metastasis from prostate cancer. Having seen my father unsuccessfully
go thru our standard US orthodox treatment of the exact same problem,

I decided to try the integrated approach used at Leonardis. I found the

medical care at the clinic to be first class, which resulted in a much

unexpected remission, all with zero side effects and positive results.

Several other members of our CARE cancer support group have now

also gone to this world class clinic, all of them have had similar and

very positive results, as I did.

Dr. Jacob's visit will include the following: [all are welcome]

Nov.10th Thur. at 7pm – CARE support group lecture

Nov.12th Sat. at 3pm – Doctor and Practitioner only meeting

Nov.14th Mon. at 12 noon, guest appearance on Dr. Majid Ali's radio

program "Science Health and Healing" WBAI 99.5 FM

Dr. Jacob, Dr Flavin, and Ed. Van Overloop are the guest's.

Nov.15th Tues. at noon – 2nd day of Dr Ali & Dr Jacob on WBAI

                with Dr. Flavin

Dennis,

sorry i don't know the temp. of prostate- i can't get
in there with a thermometer!

actually, the water temp. should be at least 42.5
degrees C acc. to the scientist who told me about
this. keep putting in more hot water as the tub
gradually cools, to keep it at that high temp.

does it work? long history of anecdotal evidence,
acc. to him. certainly soothing for anyone with
prostatitis, those prostate pains, etc.

Hi Shel,

What would be the temp of the prostate after 20
minutes in 42 C water?

Do you know from experience or anecdotal that what you
suggest is effective? I've read the attached but
haven't read of any trials or anectotal references
that it does any good.

Every year I visit the hot springs and cook my body in
104 degrees F and haven't noticed any PSA changes.
Perhaps I need to stay in the water longer... at least
20 minutes?
