Members of the NTPC Yahoo Group,
I included a PSA test with my blood lipid panel, which was done in
preparation for an appointment with my cardiologist on Thursday. Here
are my numbers, since the peak in my PSA at 31.3 a year ago on 7/22/08,
after coming off ADT.

After the peak in my PSA a year ago at 31.3, my PSA numbers appear to
have stabilized. My PSA was 14.9 at the time of my diagnosis with PCa on
6/26/06 by needle biopsy. I unwisely chose ADT (+ chemotherapy) under
Dr. Robert Leibowitz at that time. My PSA plummeted to a low of 0.24
(1/4/07) under ADT, which I aborted on 11/16/06, after 9 of 12 scheduled
sessions of chemo. It took two years to get the after effects of that
drug treatment program out of my system. I started TRT (testosterone
replacement therapy) using testosterone gel-cream and stayed on that
program for 17 months.
My PSA is still much too high, but it is gradually coming down. My
current PSA number of 21.2 is a drop of 32% from what it was a year ago.
My saliva testosterone at 32 (ref. range = 15-45) is now within the
normal range (after a wait of eight months), but my serum testosterone
at 143 (on 4/7/09) is well below the LabCorp reference range [=
241-827]. My serum T was 1550 a year ago, after supplementing with
testosterone gel-cream, which was subsequently suspended -- followed by
a steady drop in my serum T and a rise in symptoms of anemia with
fatigue. My problem with anemia is not yet resolved. My CBC numbers have
finally begun to reverse the process of anemia, but I have a long way to
go to get back where I was in November 2008.
