I'm thinking about the high cost of the apple grinders and presses to make
cider. Would it be possible, you think, to grind apples in a blender then a
grain or sausage mill (the hand crank kind) then use a cheese press to squeeze
the juice out? Or is the scale just ridiculous? I'd like to try to build a
cheese press anyways, either using a large bolt and square nut or a car jack.
Want to find out if it can do double duty.

I don't know if it's just PA or everywhere but you can't get unpasturized cider
anymore here. :(

If you're up for the drive there's a little place called Delicious Orchards in Colts Neck, NJ that always had unpasteurized cider when I still lived there....
