Ivan, Anyone,
To whom do we write or call?  I've done with congressmen, senators, president, the "candidates," all of them, Oprah, our governor, and what I get, if anything at all, is a pat on the head.  Where would the effective letter be addressed?  I've written the local and the Big Three tv stations, the radio stations in my area, the newspapers within the state, and got nothing from any of them.  I recognize a "flood" is needed but that's hard to organize & I'm not as healthy as I have been.  I am wondering if the suggestion to flood Oprah might be most effective?  Anyone?

Sadly, Ann is 100% correct.

Big Pharma likes us plenty the way we are. Worse yet, the folks
running the JDRF have fallen in love with the money and power they
now wield. They have grown comfortable with talking about a cure,
but only funding research that is not actually leading to real
results. It has come time to stop bothering with those fools and put
as much pressure as possible on elected officials. We need to turn
this into an election year issue with both sides taking as much of a
beating as they are they will promise to poney up the funding and the
fast tracking and the resources to make the research turn into a new
viable cure for the folks it will work on.

Make phone calls and write letters.
