Re: Update?

Has Faustman identified the second compound that will make this
a "permanent cure"? If so, how long a development window will it
take to bring this second compound to the clinic? Another 7 to 10
years as we saw with BCG?
And no, I am not complaining! I just think that someone who takes
donors hard earned $$$$ should be held accountable for the
statements that have been made with regard to this work!

finally given to the MGH lab in June of 2006. From that point, the
project always had a 3 year estimated time frame to do the pre-
clinical work involving the human blood assay for autoimmunity and
the automation (building the platform system) for the first 18
months and then conducting the phase I clinical trial using BCG.
We're almost a year and a half down the road and we've all been
informed that the automation is basically complete, 100's of blood
samples from diabetics have been collected and this will be an
ongoing process. We've also been given the information that the
phase I human trial is planned to start as early as this December or
January of 2008 taking an estimated timeframe of 18 months (thus the
total 3 year time frame). The dosing of phase I is very low and is
not expected to result in anyone having normoglycemia. The lab will
be collecting valuable data such as TNF alpha levels, C-peptide,

to late 2009.

Haven't heard anything for a while from the Faustman Lab or the Iaccoca Foundation. I checked the websites for both and did not see anything new. Does anyone...
