Many apologies, everyone! I read this article quickly, at the same time as I read the question I responded to, and I posted it just as quickly. It's been a busy week. I really thought that it said USA Today, but clearly it's a website called USA Daily. Sorry for misspeaking. This was my personal mistake.
People always clamor for information all along the way, and I'm disappointed to see people now being so negative when hopeful timeframes weren't met, when all the lab was trying to do all along was provide estimates as to progress times, in response to everyone begging for WHEN WHEN WHEN. They weren't being dishonest then - everything they said has always been based on how long something would take AFTER the receipt of funding.
Now that funding is not only committed, but being received in the lab, we're hearing of progress that is on schedule.
We can't forget this is discovery science in the making.
