Hi Bernard (and everyone who's feeling like it's been too quiet on the
Faustman front) -
I'm hearing that ever since Dr. Faustman has had a steady flow of
funds coming in since last June from the Iacocca Foundation, she has
been overwhelmingly busy trying to get the work done as quickly as
possible. She has little to no time to write up weekly or even monthly
research updates as she has specific progressive goals that must be
met every 6 months in order to receive the next funding installment
from the Iacocca Foundation's $10 million pledge.
With this information, along with the latest update on June 21, 2007
saying that the blood assay seems to be successfully automated, and
that the trials are expected to actually begin in January 2008, I
think we can all see that though all seemed to have fallen silent, the
Faustman lab has been nothing but busy doing exactly what we want them
to be doing. We want Dr. Faustman to progress toward the cure, and if
that means less frequent updates, I think that's a valid trade-off.
Take heart - soon we will know if this research will lead to a cure.
It's never soon enough, but this one is so very close!
