In order to conduct a human trial appropriately, and make sure that
this cure does work in people, we need to have this assay complete.
Dr. Faustman likens it to having insulin, but not have a blood
glucose test to figure out how to dose it.
Yes, she cured mice without an AUTOMATED test, but there's a big
difference between mice and men. The first leg of the trial is to
figure out dosage and frequency of the BCG, which will require tons
of blood tests to ascertain how well each dose works. Right now,
when she does a blood test manually, it takes 2-3 DAYS! The
automated process will make it take MINUTES.
Please everyone - we want this to WORK. I know we want this to
happen as soon as possible, but we don't want a failure. We want it
to be successful, for the sakes of our loved ones, not for Dr.
Faustman.
Also, FYI, Dr. Faustman won't get a red cent from the development of
this assay. She works for MGH, and this test will belong to them,
just in case anyone was wondering. She does want the cure. I've
spoken to her on several occasions, and she really does. Never doubt
that.
