I called Friday and this is what I was told about clinical trials   Message List

I called Dr. Faustman's office yesterday because I heard they needed
blood samples and wanted to know if we could have my son's blood
drawn here in Texas and send it to them. They said, no, they needed
fresh blood but asked if we wanted to get him in the clinical trial
database. She said they will send out the criteria for potential
candidates to everyone in the database when they are ready. She said
they aren't sure how things are going to be run yet, but if a chosen
candidate is from out of state, they might be able to come for a
short stay and then do the rest of the study from home. So they are
entering people from all over the U.S. and Canada into their
candidate database just in case this is possible.

She did say that they aren't expecting to start the human testing
part of the trials until 2007 but they consider the work they are
doing now with the assay machine as part of the clinical trials.
So technically, they have begun.

Becky
