Description

Discussion group for JoinLeeNow.org supporters and all others seeking a diabetes cure through research by Drs. David Nathan and Denise Faustman and their team at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). This group's purpose is to share information and spread awareness of JoinLeeNow.org and the Nathan/Faustman human trials.

The Nathan/Faustman team has identified the defects in the immune system involved in the destruction of insulin-producing cells and is working to develop a therapy that stops the autoimmune system from attacking these cells. Dr. Faustman cured type 1 diabetes in mice by stopping the autoimmune attack and allowing insulin-producing cells to regrow.
