Subject: Family Trainings being offered in S.F. -- Please spread the word!

Hi folks!

I am sending you this email to ask for your help in spreading the word about these trainings in S.F.

On January 31st, I will train at 3rd St. and Evans St. in S.F. from 5-9 p.m. on Working with Families Using Evidence Based Prinicipes (the overview training for folks interested in family work).

Then, for those interested in more, I will do a 6-week seminar entitled The Power of Including the Family System in our Work with Youth in Foster Care:   A Brief Seminar at the same location (unless we can find a better location with a mirror) that begins on March 3rd, from 5:30-8 p.m.

Unfortunately, it is kind of a challenge to get the announcement regarding these trainings to the clinicians and other staff who work directly with families.  What happens is that the announcements go out typically to one person in each organization and, if that person does not communicate it in a way that gets directly to the staff working with families, they never know about it.  The result is that it seems like folks are really not that interested in working with families.  I know that this is not the case if we can get the word out.

Thus, ANYTHING you can do to help communicate to folks who might be interested, or who know others who might be interested, w ould be great.  While it is free to anyone in S.F. who works with kids, I believe that $25 is the highest they would charge someone in S.F. who might not work with kids at all.  Also, folks who work in other counties with kids in foster care, could also sign up and only have the $25 fee for being out of county.  $25 is pretty good for a 6-session seminar.

Lastly, if you happen to be an LCSW or an MFT, you can get CEU's .

Thanks so much for helping to get the word out!

P.S. For those in the East Bay, I will be doing the same trainings on January 22nd and the seminar begins Jan. 28th.  There is still some room.
