IMMEDIATE OPENING:

Exciting position for a highly self-motivated social worker with experience in marketing, treatment of substance abuse, and hospital administration.  Supervises two full-time and one part-time employees.  Will provide referral development and outreach for new inpatient medical stabilization service for persons who are experiencing the negative effects of alcohol/drug abuse and who are insured with Medicare or commercial insurances. 

The goals of the service are:

                                Provide safe withdrawal from the drug(s) of dependence and enable the patient to become drug free,

                                Provide withdrawal that is humane, and protects the patient's dignity,

                                Bring the patient to an awareness of the fact that they are hospitalized because they are sick and the sickness is caused from the substance abuse.

                                Establish the immediate need for  an aftercare plan and the appropriate  level of treatment upon discharge

As the Service Coordinator, the social worker will coordinate and manage all aspects of the medical stabilization service and provide an ombudsman function for patients to insure they receive the highest quality and caring service from all staff and physicians during their stay.  This is NOT primarily a clinical position but rather administrative and marketing. 

Excellent salary dependent on experience and credentials.  Interviewing this week (November 26-30, 2007).
