TOPIC: Problem Gambling: Overview & Clinical Implications

SPEAKER:   Michael Liao, MSW

Michael Liao, MSW  Mr. Michael Liao is currently the Director of Programs for NICOS Chinese Health Coalition, a San Francisco-based public-private-community partnership of nearly 40 health and human service organizations. 

Mr. Liao’s career in social work has spanned various settings—including child welfare, domestic violence prevention, supervised visitation, mental health, and substance abuse treatment. In the past 3 years he has been providing problem gambling training and education to various professional audiences and the general public, and he is also the author/editor for the statewide problem gambling training curriculum. Michael has recently
published primary research examining the relationship between problem gambling and domestic violence in the Chinese community.
