Reply | Forward Message #202 of 241 |

Hello all,

Please pass on the word for folks you know who work with dependent youth in Alameda, San Francisco or Solano Counties. MFT's and LCSW's qualify for 5 BBS CEU hours. Sorry but there are no GHA credits for this training. Please do pass the word. It would be great to fill this session up. If you do not work directly with you I may be able to provide the opportunity for you to audit this course. Just let me know. The flyer information is contained below in order to avoid attachments. Please contact me directly if you would like the flyer sent to you.

Thank you and I hope to see some of you at the workshop!

Youth empowerment is an important component of successful transition for youth aging
out of the foster care system. In this session we will explore the effects of age related discrimination
on youth's ability to succeed. Through a series of interactive exercises and
large and small group dialogue participants will explore their own socialization around age
and the ways that we have learned to treat and work with the young people. Participants
will also work to develop tools and skills that may allow the greatest possible success for
youth while in care and through transition.
