Full Time Position:                        Director, High Risk Infant Interagency Council

Salary:                                             $63,000 to $73,000 (dependent on experience) + Benefits

Position Available:                         July 1, 2008

Job Location:                                 Support for Families, 2601 Mission, Suite 606

 

 

Position Description:

The Director will work with the HRIIC Council and Steering Committee to provide a forum for planning, policy development and interagency coordination of services. The Director will:

  • Manage and implement HRIIC activities, programs and projects, including supervision of staff, reporting and documentation for funding agencies
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners
  • Convene and facilitate meetings with key stakeholder groups to plan, review and develop interagency procedures and policies to improve the availability and access of services for children with special needs and their families 
  • Convene and facilitate the work of the HRIIC General Council through regular meetings, communication, and strategic planning

§         Coordinate regular trainings to help parents and professionals gain better understanding of programs, services and systems

§         Facilitate and conduct community education and outreach regarding HRIIC and the service system, to ensure agencies and providers are aware of, and understand how to, access the system

§         Participate in relevant community and citywide planning groups or committees that address the needs of children birth through five, with or at risk for, developmental delays, and their families.

 

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in public policy, public administration, social work, psychology, or related field required. 
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a public or private organization, a community-based agency or an education institution which included the responsibility for program coordination and management, program planning and/or evaluation
  • Experience in the area of interagency collaboration and systems change, including the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with a variety of agencies and community partners, and to define and address problems requiring analysis of multiple variables or situations
  • Experience facilitating groups and managing meetings effectively
  • Experience with family-centered care and disability services, and familiarity with San Francisco?s disability service system preferred
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential
  • Competency with word processing in IBM compatible computer systems

 

High Risk Infant Interagency Council (HRIIC) is a parent/professional­ collaborative­ with the mission of ensuring that all children with special needs in San Francisco , between the ages of birth through five, receive services in a timely and coordinated­ manner, through interagency­ collaboration.  Children with special needs are those infants­ and young children (ages birth through five) who have, or are at risk for, developmental­ delays, and their families. Our interagency council is composed of representatives­ of agencies and organizations­, public and private­, who provide services to high-risk infants and young children­, and parents of these children.  HRIIC is funded by First 5 San Francisco, and Support for Families of Children with Disabilities serves as the fiscal agent.
