LICENSED COUNSELOR, MULTICULTURAL EXPERTISE,
Eighty percent time (.8), 12-month appointment, Counseling and Psychological Services (CaPS), the student counseling service for California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) students.  CSUEB is located in the San Francisco East Bay Area.  Non tenure-track appointment (counselor faculty SSP AR I) beginning September 22, 2008 with possibility of reappointment.  Full benefits.  Salary commensurate with experience.  CSUEB is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
                                                           
Reporting to the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services, provides direct clinical services (individual, couples, groups), management of crisis intervention, and outreach and consultation services.  Liaison with student housing.    Some evening and weekend work may be required.

REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Licensed in California as a psychologist, MFT or LCSW or license eligible.
  • Must possess strong individual therapy skills, including experience with time-limited therapy and crisis intervention.
  • Demonstrated skills in leading counseling and psychotherapy groups.
  • Demonstrate skills in couples therapy.  
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a diverse university community.
  • Expertise in multicultural and diversity issues, prefer experience in working  with African American and Latino/a students.
  • Outstanding outreach and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to serve as a liaison with other departments/units.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively as part of a clinical team.
  • Prefer experience with technology (e.g., electronic scheduling and records, understanding of computer systems)
  • Prefer candidates who have worked in a related position in a university setting for at least one year.
