Hi! I'd love to do a Holiday Wish list for the blog - just let me know
which one or two beauty products that are on your holiday wish list,
along with your name and web site if you have one, and I'll add them to
the blog entry.
You can also do it anonymously if you'd like.
Thanks!
Sarah
Hi! I hope you're having a great weekend.
I have a new etailer review up on Maryam's Soap Nook, you can find it
at http://www.mystical-beauty.com/maryams-soap-nook.html.
So far I love everything I've tried from them, and I'll be posting more
new reviews in the next couple of weeks.
If you've tried their products, or any other products lately I'd love
to hear about your experience.
Things You Can Do Today to Lose Weight and Get Fit
I'm often times baffled at the number of people I speak with that tell me they
want to lose weight and get in shape, yet they continually fail to take any sort
of action to lose weight.
I think I know the reason for this.
There is so much confusing info out there on weight loss, people often times
are overcome with "paralysis by analysis" so instead of doing anything, they do
nothing.
I tell my clients not to think too hard about weight loss. The harder you
think about the process, the more you over-analyze it and fail to act.
Weight loss is not rocket science, but certain things need to be done to lose
weight.
You cannot wish your weight away and fail to take any working steps towards
weight loss.
In fact, here are 5 simple things you can do TODAY to help you in the weight
loss process.
1. Go for a walk during your lunch break or after work.
Take the kids out for a walk or go for a stroll with your spouse. For those of
you braving the winter weather, instead of taking a long walk outside, go to a
mall or somewhere indoors you can move around.
Park your car far away from the grocery store entrance in the parking lot and
walk.
2. Drink a lot of water.
Drinking water not only supplies your body with the #1 needed substance for
just about all body functions, drinking water will help curb your appetite and
make you feel a tad more full before dinner.
3. Split up your 3 bigger meals into 6 smaller ones.
This may be one of the easiest and most productive changes you can make in
your daily routine to lose weight.
Eating smaller meals more often will speed up your body's metabolism (the
speed in which your body utilizes food).
Speed up your metabolism and you'll never have to worry about weight again.
Instead of eating everything on your plate, each half now and half 3 hours
from now.
4. Go to the gym or bring the gym home to you.
We all know that weight training is one of the best tools against the battle
of the bulge. So that entails going to the gym.
Or, you can bring the gym home to you for less than the cost of a 3 month gym
membership.
Go to the local department store and purchase a few dumbbells, a couple of
step platforms, some jumping rope, a video aerobics tape, or anything else that
allows you to be active at home.
Anything is better than nothing.
5. Resolve to actually make a change.
This should have been number one. Until you decide to change and lose weight,
all the other steps will not happen.
Today, right now, as you are reading this (hopefully someone is :-) make the
decision to change and take action to get what you want.
You know that proper nutrition and exercise is how you stay fit.
Start doing simple things TODAY that will soon snowball and add up to the body
you want!
Don't treat weight loss harder than it has to be.

Hi! I saw an article in a magazine a while ago where they tested all
sorts of the body lotions with tanners in them, and they found that
none of them really made a difference in light, medium or dark skin
tones.
I guess the best thing is going to be a regular self tanner,
unfortunately.

I so glad you asked this question. I'd like to try a new tanning lotion, but
I've heard such wild stories of the old type self-tanners leaving you with
orange streaks. Has anyone achieved a remarkable tan using the new products?

Hi! I actually haven't tried any of these - I know I won't be able to put it

Hopefully someone else can help!

Gaze Into the Mirror
If you've heard me speak before, you've probably heard me tell stories about
mixing up my makeup. Yes, I have on occasion mixed up my eye liner and lip
liners because I couldn't see into a mirror to behold the strange distortion I
was creating.
Because the story of my makeup mishap is familiar to so many, I completely blew
off the constructive criticism that Lucy Swindoll offered to me one evening
right before I went on stage at a _Women of Faith_
(http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=9nkz8ubab.0.8yz9eqbab.becznmbab.1844&p=http://www.women\
offaith.com) conference.
Your eyes don't match she flatly advised.
Yeah, right! I quipped. I was sure she was trying to capitalize on my story or
maybe just trying to keep me relaxed before I spoke.
Very funny, I retorted.
But Lucy sounded completely serious. No, she insisted, really, one is black,
and one is brown! That impossible! I replied.
That funny and mischievous Lucy was not going to get the best of me on this
one!
Jennifer, I am serious, she said as maternally and authoritatively as possible.
Ask Nicole.
And so I turned to _Nicole Johnson_
(http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=9nkz8ubab.0.rbg96ubab.becznmbab.1844&p=http://www.fresh\
brewedlife.com/) , the talented dramatist on the Women of Faith team, and before
I could ask, she gasped, She's right! One is black and one is brown! I opened
my make-up bag and sure enough, I had two different eyeliner pencils! One
black, one brown. (Note to the
visually impaired reader: Never carry two different shades of eye liner in the
same makeup bag!)
It is true, I have not been able to see into a mirror since I was fifteen and
lost the majority of my sight. Of course, even though I joke about my many
mishaps, I would love to be able to look into a mirror to see what I look like.
I would much prefer to choose my own hair style or blush color. And yes,
eyeliner! What woman wouldn't?
But even though that reality is frustrating, it causes my eyes to gravitate to
a mirror that I can see. In fact, the mirror I look into now shows me exactly
what I look like, exactly who I am. It is the mirror of God's Word. My blind
eyes can see 20/20 as I gaze into its light. I may not see my physical image in
the bathroom mirror, but in God's mirror, I can see that I am created in God's
image! I know from Ephesians 2:10 that I am the very workmanship of Creator God.
Have you looked in that mirror lately? Gaining God’s perspective on who we
are keeps us from an inflated or deflated view of ourselves and allows us to
assess ourselves in The Light of His Word.
Physical mirrors can't reflect truth; they only offer optical illusion. Only
the mirror of God's Word reflects truth, because it is truth. It grants you a
right perspective of yourself as it reveals a true view of your Father.
But don't just look at the mirror; look into it. Gaze long and hard, the way
you do when you are applying eye shadow or fixing your hair. The way a man does
when he is shaving around those small creases and tiny lines.
The Bible is like a telescope, Philip Brooks wrote. If a man looks
through his telescope, then he sees the worlds beyond; but if he looks at his
telescope, then he does not see anything but that. The Bible is a thing to be
looked through, to see that which is beyond; but most people only look at it;
and so they see only the dead letter.
He's right. How much we miss if we only look at the Word, giving it just a
passing glance. Look into it, gaze, and feed on it like Jeremiah and you will
experience the same joy he wrote about.
When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight, for I
bear your name, O LORD God Almighty (Jeremiah 15:16)."
Blessings and Joy,
Jennifer Rothschild

Hi Lynn, welcome to the group!
I'm glad you found us.
LOL, I was trying to decide which of the new mineral foundations I
was going to try last night - do I want to stick with BE or try the
Urban Decay Surreal skin, or the neutrogena kind, or what.
And oh yeah - I'm a lip balm junkie too. I always have to have one
with me, if I don't I freak out.
I've heard yes/no about becoming addicted to lip balm - I know when I
don't have it, my lips get dry, and I don't like the way that feels.
http://www.kevdo.com/lipbalm/ is a funny site about lip balm
addiction.
Thanks for the tip about wrinkle cream on your lips, I haven't heard
that before. What kind do you use?

just me or does anyone else lie awake at night planning what to buy?
Is it just me or does anyone else have at least 6 different lip balms
and body lotions at once? Drop me a line and make me feel normal
please! Before I sign off I'll share one of the best beauty tips I
ever got - if you want your lips to stay plump and firm dab on some
anti-wrinkle cream. I also have a question: is it true that your lips
can become addicted to Vaseline?

I put a post up on the new Rate My Makeup Blog
<http://rate-my-makeup.blogspot.com/> - I've decided that whoever gets
the highest score with their picture at Rate My Makeup
<http://www.mystical-beauty.com/gallery/index.php> will get a short
interview on the blog, and bragging rights.
I'm going to try to make a little thingie saying I was the winner of the
month at Rate My Makeup, or I have the best makeup or something that the
winner can place on their website.
I'm not too good at graphics, so I want to make sure that I can make a
good graphic that doesn't look so cheesy no one wants to display it.
If you've got any ideas I'd love to hear them.
Thanks - and I hope you have a beautiful weekend.

Hi folks, just wanted to introduce myself and let you know how
relieved I am there are people in this world who are unashamed BEAUTY
JUNKIES! Is it just me or do you lie awake at night planning what to
buy? Is there anyone else out there who has at least 6 different lip
balms/body creams, etc, at once! Feel free to drop me a line and make
me feel normal! Psst. . . wanna know the best beauty tip I ever got?
If you want your lips to remain as firm and plump as possible, just
dab a little anti-wrinkle cream on them.
Looking forward to getting to know you all
