I've also heard Caroline say that you can not avoid a contract, meaning that if
you do mess up one option, that the same lesson will show up in another way.
Once you agree on a contract, it just doesn't dissolve. Like someone else said
in this thread, there are a multitude of possibilities with each decision, so if
we are closed to one, chances are another will be put in its place to get us to
the right 'space' for learning.
