Insurance companies are among the great ripoffs of our time. My
husband and I have elected to not help enrich them. Instead we have a
savings account that we fund with the dollars that we would have spent
on insurance premiums, and that is what we use for medical expenses.
Of course we have had to think about how we would handle a
catastrophic illness, etc. but overall I am glad to keep my money out
the the hands of the insurance blood suckers. They prey on us, are
fear mongers, and among the greediest organizations around. We refer
to their huge headquarters buildings and regional offices as temples
of greed.
