I'm having symptoms too, like anxiety, lightheaded ( this get severe when I was
pregnant, I even got dizzy inside the bus and find myself hugging a garbage can
for comfort), palpitations especially after drinking caffeine, sometimes
shortness of breath. The doctor told me that my condition has not change since
my last echocardiogram. He also said that I can do whatever I want except
always have take medication before going to dentist. But I can't, I tried to
run, I get shortness of breath and palpitation which I know is not good. But I
know this for a fact that stress got the biggest influence whenever I have an
attack of anxiety and palpitation. Make sure that you're managing your stress
level and try not so worry so much. Sometimes we feel the symptoms worst
because it is all in your head. The more you worry about it, the more you will
feel the symptoms. Try to relax and see if that works for you, if not go back
to your doctor and state you concern. Make a log too
everytime you have symptoms and try to remember what happen before the symptoms
occur.

I am new to this group. I am a 25 year old women who was diagnosed with mitral
valve 6
years ago. I have almost daily severe sharp chest pains that may last hours. I
have
palpitations that on occasion have lasted 10+ hours. I experience symptoms of
anxiety.
At times, I have also experienced lightheadedness. I am very frustrated because
all of the
doctors that I have seen have basically said that this is just what it is and I
need to
basically deal with it. It is a very disconcerting feeling to know that
something is wrong,
but there are no physiological causes for my symptoms. All the tests have come
back to
show that I have a very strong heart. Therefore, I don't feel like my
discomfort is being
taken seriously. Is there any one else who feels this way, and who has had some
success
with treatment? I did try a beta blocker years ago with some success, but I had
an adverse
reaction to it. Thank you for any help!
