I was diagnosed with MVP about 4 years ago. The cardiologist
initially rated the valves "floppiness" at a 3 on a 0-3 scale and
the leakage has been in the 1-2 range in the annual checkups. He
seems convinced that I will need to have it repaired at some point.
Last year the leakage was trending worse at 1.75. This year he
shook his head in surprise and said it shows only a trace of
leakage. I like the good report, but this is somewhat of a roller
coaster. Anybody have a comment about the accuracy of the
Echocardiograms? Could I really get that much better or are the
Echo's imprecise readings?
