Hi there,
I am a 27 year old female who back in June I had to have my mitral valve
replaced because they could not repair mine. I was diagnosed when I was small
and yes your cardiologist is right about the chest pain. I have had at least 4
doctors tell me that people with mvp have chest pains and they don't know why.
I do have a 4 year old daughter, she is my one and only because another one is
just out of the question. So she's my miracle baby. I went to one of the best
hospitals in the United States to have my operation. I never took the medicine
for mvp because my doctor told me it would make me tired all the time and I am
just to busy for that. But now since I opted for the mechanical valve(since
more than likely I won't need surgery again) I have to take Coumadin(blood
thinner) for the rest of my life but that doesn't slow me down. I'll give you my

Hello,
I was diagnosed with MVP 4 1/2 years ago. I
get severe chest pain and pain in my left arm from it.
My cardiologist told me that I'd just have to deal
with all the symptoms because thats part of MVP. I
havent had insurance since then but once i do i plan
on getting a second opinion. I would suggest to you
that if you dont get all the answers to your questions
to get a second opinion. I've heard people say that
they take medication for their MVP. Just out of
curiosity,do you have kids? I am pregnant with my
first and i dont know if my MVP will act up when i
deliver.
