MVP is a condition where your mitral valve in your heart doesnt close
properly, this results in blood leaking from the valve. The tests your
doctor does will determine the severity of the leaking. This does NOT mean
you are going to have a heart attack. Many people live with mvp with NO
symptoms and its not a fatal disease at all. Depending on your age and the
amount of regurgitation(blood leaking) you might have to have a valve
replacement but these days its not a big deal. MVPS is the syndrome that
accompanies MVP and that is where you get all kinds of pains, panic attacks,
anxiety, ect....Your autonomic system is not in balance. You may also
experience skipped beats or irregular beats. These can be controlled by meds
some people use herbs. We are all different and deal with MVP differently.
Get support from the message boards and talk to people who also have these
symptoms. Its not life threatening so don't stress about that. Talk to your
doctor and ask ALL the questions you can think of, write them down so you
don't forget to ask. Hope this helps.
